LEARNING

A little learning today.
A clearer plan tomorrow.

Short guides to organising household and business money.

01

Income and what remains

Write down your income, then subtract the costs of earning it. In a business, replacing stock also requires money.

Example: 50,000 RWF income less 35,000 RWF costs leaves 15,000 RWF. Any unrecorded costs reduce what remains.

02

When income is seasonal

If most income arrives at harvest, note how many months it needs to cover. Separate household needs, debts due and next season’s expenses.

Plan between harvests

03

Before accepting terms

Read the full amount payable, dates, penalties and other conditions. Ask for any unclear wording to be explained. Keep a copy of what you accept.

Questions about borrowing

04

Protect your information

Keep your PIN, password and one-time code private. On a shared device, delete your draft when finished. Confirm an email or phone number before sharing information.
